Copenhagen: Klovermarken site design competition. Invited entry to a design competition for the development of a 190 hectare mixed use residential and open space neighbourhood in the centre of Copenhagen.
Woolwich Town Centre DLR Station Master plan. Capacity and development potential of key sites that sit directly over the DLR station and tracks in Woolwich Town Centre. Briefing, assessment and interviewing developers as part of procurement process. Client: Transport for London
Chatham Station Gateway (Thames Gateway area). Gateway to Chatham from the railway station.Part of the development of the Town Centre, working to ensure a fully integrated approach to movement and development opportunities. Client: Medway Renaissance
Sittingbourne Station and town centre regeneration. Three projects looking at linkages to the existing historic high street and the expected growth of the town and industrial brownfield sites. Client: Swale Borough Council and Swale Forward
Custom House Crossrail Station master plan. A master plan for the area immediately adjoining the Crossrail station at Custom House which will serve the local community and also be the main point of arrival for Excel exhibition centre. Client: London Borough of Newham
Northfields Master plan. Mixed use residential led with commercial uses proposals for industrial estate just off the North Circular Road. Client: Brixton Estates
Luxembourg Gare Urban Design Competition. Prize winning urban design proposal providing pedestrian links across the railway lines connecting the City Centre to inner suburban areas. The project included provision for a new entertainment area, tram line and TGV station interchange.
Roehampton Local Centre, shops and library. A master plan for the extension and redevelopment of the existing local centre of the Alton Estate, Roehampton comprising new residential units, shops, a supermarket and library. Client: Wandsworth Borough Council.
Ipswich IP1 Urban Renaissance. A 25 year vision for the centre of Ipswich. Intensification of development to provide sustainable neighbourhoods around the historic core, enhancing the dramatic setting of the Wet Dock and developing an education quarter for the University of East Anglia. Client: Ipswich Borough Council.
Liverpool Lime Street Gateway. A world class Gateway to Lime Street station. The team was selected from an invited competition organised by Liverpool Vision and English Partnerships. Client: English Partnerships
Bristol Temple Meads ADF and Temple Quay Master Plan. A Framework to guide the transformation of a key part of the centre of Bristol. Conservation of Grade I station, urban design and transport to deliver a modern transport interchange, including radical changes to highway infrastructure and the delivery of a new quarter with a mix of uses. Client: SWRDA
Bedford Town Centre Master plan. Looking forward to the next 15-20 years of Bedford’s development and highlighting options for the development of a number of distinct areas. Client: English Partnerships with Bedford Borough Council.
Gypsy Corner and North Acton Master plan. An urban design framework and public realm strategy for the area around the North Acton underground station. The master plan introduced high density mixed uses based on the underground station and access to Central London. Client: Frogmore and London Borough of Ealing
East Ham Town hall sites. An Urban Design Framework for the London Borough of Newham. The Victorian Town Hall is Listed Grade II* and surrounded by a number of distinguished Listed Buildings to form the centrepiece of a fine late Victorian, early Edwardian Civic Centre. The Study included consideration of the re-use of existing buildings. Client: London Borough of Newham
Seagrave Road and Earls Court. An urban design framework for the Seagrave Road car park and Earls Court exhibition parking and vehicle marshalling arrangements. The proposals created a network of streets and blocks that respond to the surrounding urban grain whilst taking advantage of the site’s close proximity to West Brompton railway and Underground Station. Client: Earls Court and Olympia
Vauxhall / Battersea Opportunity Area Vision. A Strategic Vision for an area of over 78 hectares, from Lambeth Bridge in the East to Chelsea Bridge in the West including New Covent Garden Market, Battersea Power Station, Vauxhall Station interchange and Albert Embankment. An ‘opportunity area’ currently being developed. Client: Cross River Partnership.
Broadmeadow. Master plan for 1,000 homes, primary school, employment space, riverside ecological area on the immediate outskirts of Ipswich. The site was previously occupied by a British Sugar works. Client: J and G Gallagher.
Kings College the Strand (Shepheard Epstein and Hunter). Masterplan for the College’s Strand site including new buildings around the Grade II* Robert Smirke designed college. The project including rebuilding part of the Strand frontage for a new law faculty as well as major conversion and extensions to Surrey Street properties owned by the College. The foresaw the opening up of the Somerset House terrace and proposed the creation of a major sports hall.
Taliesin Theatre Swansea (Peter Moro and Partners) A new adaptable proscenium and open stage studio theatre with generous foyer, art gallery, bookshop, academic offices and backstage facilities. The project was completed in 1984. The original building has been extended by another practice.
Public Realm design and client management (City of Westminster). Various street, landscape, parks open spaces and public art projects. These included major projects for Oxford Street, the Strand, World Squares (Trafalgar Square), as well as large scale garden refurbishment and new authentic railings to Victoria Embankment Gardens and Grosvenor Gardens. Numerous park play areas and garden improvements throughout the City.
